We are pleased to introduce our newest community on North Gayton Road in Richmond’s West End, nestled in the heart of Short Pump.  In addition to Manorhouse’s signature product – assisted living and memory care – the new campusoffers independent living and age-restricted single family custom home sites. The new community is an exciting concept for Manorhouse CEO Ken Newell, who founded Manorhouse here in the 1990’s.  Personally, Newell has called Richmond home for over 30 years, while the majority of his professional endeavors have been spread around the mid-Atlantic region.

We have put in place an experienced, dedicated leadership team and staff.  Our founder, Ken Newell, is always happy to have a cup of coffee and hear about your family.  Newell may introduce you to Jim Bonnell, Chief Operating Officer, and once they can show you around the community, you'll have the opportunity to meet the staff who will be striving to exceed the expectations of our residents and families in a unique and outstanding way.

Simple solutions to complex family needs…

The Manorhouse Family, in their own words:

My aunt lives at Manorhouse. I enjoy seeing her interact with the staff and other residents. She is truly happy here and is well cared for. We couldn’t ask for anything more.
— Jamie
A very close friend of the family lives here and I visit her as often as I can. I just wanted to share that in my experience everyone has always been so nice and helpful. They take pride in not only doing their jobs but making sure the residents are treated like family.
— Rachelle
I live in the same town as my mom, but I have to travel a lot with work. When mom started showing signs of Alzheimer’s we visited many places and decided on this one for when the time came. Not long after we moved mom in, and she has been there for awhile now. I am comforted to know she is in good capable and caring hands. I would much rather have her with me but I know that just isn’t the best for her. She is very happy here and still feels she has her independence which was huge in making our decision. She even has choices. I am very happy with Manorhouse and everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I can’t say thank you enough for the great care they are giving my mother.
— Randy Hernandez
Word of mouth from two close friends drew us to Manorhouse. Naturally I had to check out other places, but I kept coming back to Manorhouse. In Oct. 2010, my parents moved into a lovely apartment with a kitchenette. I positioned the furniture around the window so they could watch the sunset like at their old home in VA. It was important to me and to them to be able to continue their lifestyle with as little change as possible. Being outdoor people, Mom and Dad love strolling thru the beautiful courtyard. There is a great professional chemistry between all the Managers which is important. It is a well run, clean facility with emphasis on respect and care for the residents. I could go on forever listing the attributes of Manorhouse.

We’ve perfected our caring approach through 30 years of service to seniors

It’s the Manorhouse philosophy to find the right people – a caring and compassionate staff – to keep in step with what residents want and need.  We’ve learned that residents want to pay only for the care that’s needed, when it’s needed, and without large up-front entry fees, or having to move when their care needs change.  We’ve listened and made sure it translated to the care we provide. You’ll see it in our trademarked approach and proprietary programs -- InStep™, CheckPoint™, and SkillStep™.  At Manorhouse, our staff is trained to stay engaged with our residents and their changing needs.  We’re focused on providing a caring environment - it’s at the heart of what we do.
